Welcome to another MonoTown city update! In this 3:30 video, we dive into the latest developments in our LEGO city.
welcome to day two of our work on the city streets of monotone let's review this is what a normal lego road base plate looks like i've used them for years and probably so have you but i wanted to capture the look of a real tram like the one here in edinburgh scotland with the tracks embedded directly into the street this meant i had to design a new road system built from thousands of lego bricks i also wanted to reroute the railroad in monotone for two reasons it would free up roughly eight base plates worth of space that i could use for buildings and it would allow me to run trains on the city streets it's not as crazy as it sounds street running of trains is a real thing as you can see in these examples not common but not unheard of lastly we needed to reinstall the elevated train or l which we took down to repave things taking inspiration from the world famous chicago l which also happens to be the third busiest public transport system in the usa the l is an important intra city transport link and monotowners couldn't live without it welcome to monotown a post-apocalyptic city built with lego bricks visit us on the web at monotown. tv or if you'd like to build with us live follow monotone tv on twitch here's our work area for today the south side of monotone you can see the newly installed streets and the work we still have to do first we focused on raising the level of the reclaimed base plates to the new street level an increase of one brick and two plates next it was time to continue to dismantle the l pave some more streets and raise up the movie theater you can see here what the new street looks like along with all of the buildings at the correct street level let's keep going now it's time to clean up some of the tiling along the sidewalk or as we say here in scotland the pavement it's finally time to rebuild the l the l had to be widened to accommodate the now wider street but that's okay just takes a few more bricks and here we are almost two hours later i think it turned out pretty great still lots to do but that's always the case in monotone things are getting back to normal and the trains are almost running again want to follow along as we build live join us on twitch we'd love to see you there until next time thanks for watching.
The streets of MonoTown are built entirely from LEGO bricks and feature an embedded tram track! Intercity trains also share the right-of-way with...
